The Shiba Inu community has been in awe from the time the members learned that they could leverage their holdings to pay for Web3 food delivery.
Shiba Inu ($SHIB) has made history by becoming the first meme coin to be accepted for Web3 food delivery.
The first order was placed and paid for using SHIB on DevourGO, thanks to the Coinbase Commerce integration.
Devour confirmed the news in a post on X, stating that DevourGO now accepts $SHIB via Coinbase Commerce integration and revealing that they made the first purchase.
This marks the first time a meme coin can be used to pay for food delivery, to the knowledge of the community. While there is no concrete evidence to support this claim, it does pave the way for SHIB holders to use their tokens to order food on DevourGO for the first time.
In a statement regarding their partnership with Coinbase Commerce, Shelly Rupel, Chief Executive Officer of Devour, said, “We are excited to partner with Coinbase Commerce, which unlocks a huge opportunity not only for SHIB holders but for all crypto holders.”
