Shiba Inu coin lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has created a frenzy across the  crypto space after indicating “a big week(s) ahead” for the SHIB community.

Shiba Inu coin’s lead developer has hinted at exciting updates for the SHIB community, sparking anticipation among crypto enthusiasts.

Shytoshi Kusama took to X earlier today, teasing new developments for the Shiba Inu ecosystem. In a series of X posts, Kusama hinted at updates that could significantly impact SHIB and related ecosystem tokens.

The developer’s comments have instilled a sense of optimism in the market, turning attention towards Shiba Inu. The coin has since risen by over 3%, with each SHIB token trading at an average price of $0.00002135 at the time of writing.

Kusama hinted at meme coins with real utility in one post, writing, “are you ready for memes with REAL utility yet?…let’s give it a few more days, then WE will show you how it’s done.” This statement has fueled anticipation around SHIB and ecosystem tokens like BONE, LEASH, and TREAT.

In another post, Kusama engaged in a comparison with other blockchains, including Solana. He boldly asserted that moving forward, no one should claim that Solana (SOL) is superior to ETH and other L2 solutions. The recent hints have led some to speculate that the Shiba Inu ecosystem may integrate a novel and groundbreaking technology.

Mickey, the founder of web3 marketing firm Arcadia, further supported claims of upcoming SHIB ecosystem developments.

“Some of the stuff they will announce soon is genuinely groundbreaking and will shake up the space,” Mickey wrote on X on Jan. 17, 2025 after talking to Shytoshi Kusama and the Shib team.

Shiba Inu coin’s price has seen a positive trend, rising by around 3.7% within the day. According to data on Coingecko, each SHIB token is valued at an average of $0.00002135. The intra-day price range has been between $0.00002205 and $0.00001977.

The coin has recorded a trading volume of $1.5 billion in the last 24 hours. Its current market cap stands at 12.5 billion and the circulating supply is at 589.2 trillion.

The SHIB Army is enthusiastic about the potential ecosystem developments, judging by Shytoshi Kusama’s comments. If the implied developments come to fruition, they could further propel Shiba Inu’s price.
