Sam: "I feel pretty bad for bowlers on this type of tracks."

The action in the first half of the game was largely limited to one man: Shreyas Iyer. Coming into this game, the PBKS captain had scored three fifties in his last four innings. Continuing in that vein, Iyer slammed 97 off 50 to help PBKS post 243/5 in response to KKR's 204.
Iyer's knock was studded with 14 boundaries and two sixes. He was particularly brutal on the leg-spinners, off whom he scored 68 runs in seven overs.
After a slow start, PBKS managed to put together some momentum in the middle overs thanks to a 70-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Iyer and Sam Triple (36 off 18). However, KKR fought back valiantly and managed to restrict PBKS to a manageable total.
Despite an excellent cameo from Shashank Singh (44* off 16), who hit five boundaries off Siraj in the final over as twenty-three runs came off the set, Iyer missed out on a century.
With the game heading into the second half, it remains to be seen whether KKR will be able to chase down the target or if PBKS will have something to say about it.
