Salisbury Resident Passes Away After Parkinson's Battle

William Nock, a 74-year-old Salisbury resident, passed away on March 27, 2024, after a valiant struggle with Parkinson's disease. Mr. Nock, a graduate of James M. Bennett High School, served in the U.S. Coast Guard and worked at Perdue as a Tag and

William “Bill” I. Nock, 74, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the Macky and Pam Stansell House of Coastal Hospice in Ocean Pines, MD, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, with his loving companion (Irene Moore) and great nephew (Kevin Layton) by his side.

Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Charles Thomas Nock, Sr. and Nellie Johnson Nock.

Mr. Nock graduated in 1967 with an academic diploma from James M. Bennett High School. Following graduation, he served four years with the U.S. Coast Guard stationed at Governors Island New York Harbor. For the next 38 years, he was employed at Perdue as a Tag and Title Administrator, retiring in 2011. He had a great knowledge of computers being self-taught and was always willing to assist co-workers, family, and friends. Bill was a quiet, reserved person, but when asked always offered words of wisdom. He enjoyed listening to his favorite music, always a fan of the Beatles, and adding to his coin and baseball card collections.

He is survived by Irene Moore, his faithful fiancé and companion of 50 years and his caretaker. He is also survived by two sisters, Betsy Nock and Nellie Foxwell of Salisbury; Charles (Buddy) Nock, Jr. in Arkansas; special friends, Donald Moore (Peggy), Charles Hastings, and Don Shortt; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was proceeded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Kelly and Virginia Bradford; and two brothers, David and Wallace Nock.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Howard Travers will officiate. Burial will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Macky and Pam Stansell House, 1500 Ocean Parkway, Ocean Pines, MD 21811.
