Rumors are circulating on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) that the SEC will drop the Ripple case within seven days.

A viral rumor on X, formerly known as Twitter, claims that the SEC will drop its case against Ripple within seven days. If true, this could push XRP’s price to $10. Currently, XRP is trading at $2.03.
Among those dropping their suit against Consensys is the SEC, and speculation about Ripple’s outcome is heightened. Interestingly, it has also decided not to go after Metamask in claims.
Recently, Judge Torre classified XRP differently than other altcoins, adding another layer to the case. At the same time, Robinhood is cleared by the SEC in its investigation. The experts said this could be a new direction for the SEC’s enforcement efforts. Coinbase was also charged for the same thing, and they dropped the charges, indicating the SEC is pulling back from the pursuit of aggressive litigation.
Hope is still up for investors as companies like 21Shares and Grayscale applied for XRP ETFs. But the case has been going on for years and it is still not settled yet.
Coinbase and Robinhood have settled with the SEC. However, the agency is still pursuing cases against Consensys and Meta. Despite the rumors, the SEC is still expected to complete its case against Ripple by April 15, 2025.
If the case is dropped, it is likely that the agency will not appeal the recent ruling that imposes a $125 million judgment against the SEC.
