Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald J. Duplessis, age 87, formerly of Wickliffe, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church
A vibrant life has come to a peaceful end with the passing of Ronald J. Duplessis, age 87, of Wickliffe, on February 24, 2025, at Salida Woods in Hunting Valley.
Ronald was born August 4, 1937, in East Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Levi and Beatrice (nee Boissoneauld) Duplessis.
He worked as an electrician and was a proud member of IBEW Local 38 for over 67 years. Ronald was also a member of the Army National Guard, Wickliffe Eagles, and Sons of the American Legion.
In his free time, Ronald enjoyed collecting coins, drawing, gardening, working on puzzles and framing them when completed, bowling, shooting pool, and traveling with his late wife, Dorothy. A true sports enthusiast, Ronald was a devoted fan of Cleveland’s teams, especially the Indians and Browns. Above all, he cherished spending time with family, particularly lunch on Saturdays.
Ronald is survived by his children, Vicki (John, deceased) Sason and Steven (Lisa) Duplessis; grandchildren, Jacqueline Schwarz (Jim), Nick Duplessis (Ashley), Kimberley (Dan) Ertter, Kelly Sason, Daniel Duplessis, Brittany (Fiancé Nate Parsons) Duplessis; and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Dominic, Killian, Carson, Jett, and Waylon.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Donald and James (Cindy) Duplessis; grandchildren, Steven and Melissa Duplessis; and sister, Shirley (Leroy) Braunlich.
The family will receive friends at The Orlando-Donsante-Previte Funeral Home 29550 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe, on Sunday, March 2nd from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 3rd at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe (Family and Friends Please Meet at Church). Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Ron’s family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Salida Woods Assisted Living and Vitalia Mentor Memory Care for taking such good care of him in his final years.
