RAY surged 10% after Raydium launched LaunchLab, a new meme coin creation platform aimed at challenging the dominance of Solana's Pump.fun.

RAY Surged 10% After Raydium Launched LaunchLab, a New Meme Coin Creation Platform

Raydium's LaunchLab platform, a competitor to Pump.fun's meme coin creation activities, has been launched by the firm.

The platform's launch comes after Pump.fun split with Raydium last month.

The development helped make RAY the top-performing major crypto on CoinMarketCap.

Raydium has launched LaunchLab, its own token launchpad platform. The move is set to spark a direct competition with Pump.fun, the popular Solana-based meme coin incubator.

Announcing the launch on Monday, Raydium said its platform will provide creators with customizable bonding curves and zero migration fees. Tokens that raise 85 Solana will also seamlessly transition to Raydium's AMM instantly.

Its addition comes as part of a broader effort to expand Web3 tooling and services.

LaunchLab also provides creators with the option to earn a 10% commission on trading fees from the AMM pool after the token graduates from the launchpad.

New tokens can be launched for free, while creators can choose to pay a fee to have their token's AMM liquidity seeded immediately.

Data from LaunchLab shows several new tokens have already been launched on the platform.

LaunchLab's launch comes at a time when both Pump.fun and its new PumpSwap DEX have been performing well.

Activity on the platform and its decentralized exchange has been heating up in recent days.

Data from Dune Analytics shows the daily number of new tokens launched on Pump.fun has been rising in the last few days after an earlier steep decline.
