Ravi Shastri's toss blunder leaves Shreyas Iyer, and Shubman Gill shocked

'Charismatic' Shastri, who is known for his energetic introductions at the toss, was at his best during the GT vs PBKS clash.

The fifth match of the Indian Premier League saw Shubman Gill’s Gujarat Titans take on Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, March 25.

The two teams were aiming to get their campaigns off to a good start after an entertaining opening four matches of the tournament.

Both sides announced their respective Impact Players for the encounter. While Rishabh Pant was surprisingly benched by Punjab, Gujarat brought back Abhinav Manohar in place of the wicketkeeper-batsman.

Meanwhile, 'charismatic' Ravi Shastri, who is known for his energetic introductions at the toss, was at his best during the GT vs PBKS clash.

After introducing both the captains and demanding the toss representative to give the coin to the match referee, Shastri accidentally said, 'Shreyas will spin the coin'.

This shocked both the skippers as Shubman Gill was the home captain and had the coin in his hands. Shastri, meanwhile, was quick to acknowledge his mistake and asked Gill to spin the coin.
