Rare 50p coin listed on eBay for £25k to commemorate the end of Brexit

A rare 50p coin is being sold on eBay for a staggering £25,000 - and it features a quote about "peace" and "friendship".

The coin, which has Queen Elizabeth II on the back, is being touted as the perfect way to commemorate the end of Brexit.

It is one of a batch of special 50p coins which were released into circulation in January 2020.

The coins feature different designs on the back, including the words "Peace, Prosperity and Friendship with all Nations".

This particular coin is being sold by an Oxford seller on the online marketplace.

It is listed for £25,000 or the best offer with an additional cost of £8.35 for delivery.

The listing begins: "This 50p coin is a must-have for any coin collector.

"The front of the coin features the words "Peace, Prosperity and Friendship with all Nations".

"Minted in the United Kingdom and with a denomination of 50p, this coin is a great addition to any collection.

"It was issued in January 2020 and is a perfect way to commemorate the end of Brexit.

"Whether you are a Remainer or a Leaver, this coin is a wonderful piece of British history."

The listing also includes a photo of the coin and states that it is located in Oxford.

People interested in buying the coin can view the listing here.

Other similar rare 50p coins are also listed on eBay for large sums of money.

One seller is attempting to flog a Beatrix Potter 50p coin for £20,000 while another is selling a Kew Gardens 50p for £15,000.

And one coin seller is even trying to sell a 50p coin with a minting error for a whopping £50,000.

The coins are being snapped up by collectors who are hoping to make a quick buck.

But coin experts have warned that not all of the coins listed on eBay are genuine.

They have urged people to do their research before splashing out on a rare coin.
