A 'VERY rare' coin is being sold for in excess of £1500 by a Worcester resident on eBay.

The 50p coin was released in 2020 and serves to pay tribute to the contribution Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities have made to the country.

The 50p coin was released in 2020 and serves to pay tribute to the contribution Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities have made to the country.

The reverse side of the coin was designed by Dominique Evans, it features the text 'DIVERSITY BUILT BRITAIN' across the design, with the words presented in front of a structure of interconnected triangles.

The purpose of the lines is to connect and form a network - with each part just as important as the other to make the design.

The initials 'DME' are featured in the bottom right corner of the design - representing the designer.

Having designed the coin, Mr Evans said: "When designing this coin, I began by thinking about the people who inspire me and what diversity has meant in my life.

"I believe that no matter where you are born, we all belong under the same sky and this was the starting point of the design.

"The background of the coin features a geodome with a series of interconnecting lines and triangles that form a network. Each part is equal, and symbolises a community of connection and strength."

This specific coin is on sale on eBay for a fee of £1564.26, with a Royal Mail Special Delivery fee of £8.35.
