Rare £1 coin featuring Queen Elizabeth II on the back and dating back to 2016 is being sold on eBay for £10k

A one-of-a-kind £1 coin is up for grabs on eBay for a staggering £10,000.

The rare misprinted coin features Queen Elizabeth II on the back and is listed on the online marketplace for over 10,000 times its face value.

Minted in 2016, the coin is described by the seller as a 'collector's dream'.

The seller adds: “2016 New Shape coin. This is a rare misprinted coin. One in a million! A collector's dream coin to have as it is so very rare.

"Coins are sifted through to stop misprints getting out but some slip through the net, which makes it so exciting when a coin like this surfaces."

Previously featured by The Sun newspaper, the coin is listed for £10,000 or the best offer with an additional £3.30 for delivery.

The coin is located just over the Oxfordshire border in Swindon and the listing can be viewed here.

Other rare coins are listed on eBay for even bigger profits, with some on sale for as much as £50,000.
