President Donald Trump is extending a unique invitation to the top holders of the $TRUMP meme coin: a private dinner and, for the biggest investors

President Donald Trump is extending a unique invitation to the top holders of the $TRUMP meme coin: a private dinner and, for the biggest investors, a White House tour.
“Have Dinner with President Trump and the $TRUMP Community!” a glitzy online invitation seen by Blockworks reads. Let the President know how many $TRUMP coins YOU own!”
According to the $TRUMP coin website, the top 220 digital asset holders will dine with the president on May 22 at Trump National Golf Club near Washington. The top 25 holders will get even more VIP treatment: a private reception and a tour of the White House.
The move, reported by the Associated Press, is the latest in Trump’s post-crypto-conversion era. Once a digital asset skeptic, Trump has thrown his weight behind cryptocurrencies, vowing to turn the US into the “world capital” for crypto innovation. His pivot comes as the industry is flexing growing political muscle, having spent heavily during Trump’s 2024 election campaign.
“This is really incredible,” said Corey Frayer, a former crypto policy adviser at the SEC under Biden. They are making the pay-to-play deal explicit,” he told The New York Times.
The invitation sent $TRUMP prices soaring, jumping more than 60% as people raced to buy their way to a seat at the table.
Launched by Trump and first lady Melania just before his return to office, the meme coin project drew backlash for what many called a “cash grab in a red hat.”
While the Trump Organisation signed a voluntary ethics agreement limiting the president’s business involvement, it does not prohibit crypto promotions.
