US President Donald Trump to host El Salvador's Nayib Bukele in the White House next month, where they are expected to discuss Bitcoin

Trump's invitation to Bukele comes in the wake of latter's government accepting to jail hundreds of alleged gang members from El Salvador who have been deported from the U.S. by Trump administration.

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to host El Salvador President Nayib Bukele at the White House next month, where the two presidents are expected to discuss a range of issues, including possibly Bitcoin, according to speculations.

Trump's invitation to Bukele follows the latter's government's decision to accept the return of hundreds of alleged gang members from El Salvador who were deported from the U.S. by the Trump administration.

While the White House has not yet officially confirmed the invitation, a recent tweet from Bukele seems to have put speculations to rest.

"I'll be bringing several cans of Diet Coke," the president wrote, sharing a news article about the upcoming meeting.

Bukele was one of the many guests who attended Trump's inauguration speech.

Bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried will also be a guest at the upcoming White House event.

Many guests, including Trump Junior, were spotted during the oath-taking ceremony of the latter back in June 2024.

Both Trump and Bukele are known for their interest in cryptocurrency, particularly Bitcoin, which they have discussed on several occasions.

Trump has expressed his desire to turn the U.S. into the Bitcoin capital of the world, while Bukele's obsession with BTC is no secret, and he has often shared his portfolio on social media.

Both nations are also optimistic about the Bitcoin reserve strategy and are actively working on it.

El Salvador's Bitcoin adoption was a major turning point in the cryptocurrency industry, and the pro-crypto U.S. cabinet could pave the way for this technology to become a key financial alternative in the coming years.
