Former President Donald Trump threw his weight behind Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) on Wednesday in her reelection bid, highlighting her efforts to position the U.S. as the global hub for cryptocurrency.
Taking to his Truth Social account, Trump expressed his support for Lummis, known for her role in advancing the agenda of digital assets.
“Senator Cynthia Lummis has my complete and total endorsement for re-election—SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN,” Trump stated.
Lummis is seeking reelection in 2026 after defeating Democratic rival Merav Ben-David to win the Wyoming Senate election in 2020.
Lummis is a strong advocate for Bitcoin (BTC) and has proposed legislation called the BITCOIN Act, which would see the Treasury Department purchase 1 million Bitcoins over five years.
Earlier this year, Lummis was appointed as Chair of the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Digital Assets.
