Pi Network Briefly Stalked the Spotlight After a Viral Tweet Falsely Claimed Donald Trump Name-Dropped It at the White House's First-Ever Crypto Summit on March 7, 2025

A tweet claiming former U.S. President Donald Trump name-dropped Pi Network several times during the White House’s first-ever Crypto Summit on March 7, 2025, has gone viral, sparking excitement among Pi supporters.

The tweet, by a Twitter account called Pi Network-Open Mainnet with 227K followers, reads:

The post quickly went viral, sparking excitement among Pi supporters who believed Trump had acknowledged their project. A bunch of people jumped into the comments, talking about what this big shoutout could mean. Still, some weren’t buying it and wondered if those words were even said for real.

As the post blew up, folks began double-checking if the claim held up. Social media users, reporters, and crypto experts dug into the official transcripts and summit videos to see what’s what.

While Trump did talk about cryptocurrency and the U.S. taking a leading role in the industry, there was no official record of him mentioning Pi Network.

To clear things up, Grok, the AI chatbot connected to X (Formerly Twitter), was asked to check if the claim was true. In reply, Grok posted on X:

“Hey, I’ve checked the claims about Trump mentioning Pi Network at the Crypto Summit on 3/7/25. No solid evidence or direct X posts from Trump or credible attendees confirm this. The buzz seems to stem from speculation in the Pi community, fueled by Trump’s broader crypto reserve talk. Dig into X for unfiltered reactions—plenty of skepticism and excitement there, but no smoking gun. Pi’s massive user base (100M+) makes it a hot topic, but verify before you buy in!”

Despite the rumors, Trump’s discussions at the summit were focused on creating a strategic cryptocurrency reserve, including assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Cardano. The event was centered on how the U.S. could establish itself as a global leader in digital currency while ensuring economic security.

In the end, no credible sources, including official transcripts, attendees, or Trump himself—confirmed that he ever mentioned Pi Network. The viral tweet appears to be based on speculation rather than fact.
