The hackers posted content promoting a Solana-based meme coin called ANITA.
According to the post, Drake collaborated with the cryptocurrency betting platform Stake to promote the meme coin.
The Block reported that the meme coin quickly surged by over 1,000% following the promotion.
However, traders soon realized that the cryptocurrency was a scam and stopped buying it, leading to a sharp decline in trading volume.
According to DEX Screener data, the meme coin recorded a trading volume of $5 million before the scam was discovered.
Recently, there have been frequent cases of X accounts of celebrities and companies being hacked to promote meme coins.
Last week, the X account of the ADA Foundation was hacked, and the hackers posted content promoting a meme coin called "ADA Baby.
