Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) opener Phil Salt left fans in awe with a jaw-dropping fielding effort against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2025.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fans were treated to a moment of brilliance from new recruit Phil Salt,ix standard viewers with an athletic fielding effort that had them comparing it to AB de Villiers's famous catch in IPL 2018.

This incredible moment happened in the 13th over as Yashasvi Jaiswal hit a Krunal Pandya over deep mid-wicket. Salt, who was standing near the boundary, timed his jump perfectly and got both his hands to the ball. But as he was getting to the ball, he realized that his momentum was going to take him over the boundary.

In a moment of quick thinking and agility, Salt flung the ball back into the field just as his foot touched the rope, preventing a six and saving five crucial runs for RCB.

This wasn't Salt's first amazing fielding feat this season. Earlier this season in a game against Mumbai Indians, Salt took a diving catch and then flicked the ball to Tim David mid-air, showcasing his reflexes and agility to perfection.

Since joining RCB, Phil Salt has been a dynamic asset, smashing 143 runs in five innings and performing some match-saving fielding efforts.

His versatility as a wicketkeeper-batter has been invaluable in adding depth to the squad, and his contributions both with the bat and the gloves have made him a firm fan favourite.
