Overcoming the $1 Hurdle: Dogecoin (DOGE) Struggles, Solana (SOL) Rebounds 12%
Apr 12, 2025 at 10:50 pm
Once buoyed by meme culture and Elon Musk's endorsements, Dogecoin (DOGE) now struggles to breach the $1 threshold
Dogecoin price struggles to break through the $1 mark amid flawed tokenomics and limited institutional interest, while Solana price shows promise with a 12% rebound from recent lows but faces stiff resistance at $120. Meanwhile, Mutuum Finance (MUTM) is making waves in its ongoing presale, having raised $6.65 million and sold over 405 million tokens. Currently priced at $0.025 in phase 4, MUTM's presale is progressing rapidly, with 8,200 holders already securing positions ahead of a projected 140% surge at its $0.06 exchange debut.
As Dogecoin faces the implications of unlimited supply and Solana encounters technical headwinds, Mutuum Finance's structured lending model and deflationary mechanisms position it as a standout candidate for 2025 gains.
Dogecoin Price Faces Uphill Battle Against Infinite Supply
Dogecoin price's journey to $1 remains hindered by systemic hurdles. As highlighted by Ben Armstrong, an analyst at BitcoinsBeats, Dogecoin's uncapped supply—with 10,000 new DOGE entering circulation every minute—presents a significant barrier to sustained price growth.
In contrast to Bitcoin's scarcity-driven model, Dogecoin's structure more closely resembles fiat currencies, rendering its value largely dependent on production costs, which are currently stifling any breakout attempts.
"It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of Dogecoin. I think it's a flawed token with a flawed community. ... They're selling at a loss because they bought it for less than a cent. It's a huge sell-off wave that's putting downward pressure on the price. ... It's not surprising that we're struggling to break through $1 despite Elon's interest and the hype around a potential spot ETF approval in 2025."
However, despite a 69% chance of regulatory greenlights according to Polymarket odds, skepticism remains.
"I'm not sure if we'll ever see Dogecoin price hit $1. It's a meme coin that's been hyped up by Elon Musk and the promise of a bull market in 2025. But I'm not optimistic. We'll need to see some serious innovation and institutional interest for Dogecoin to reach new highs."
Solana Price Shows Promise But Faces Technical Resistance
Solana price has shown some resilience with a 12% rebound from the $100 support level, suggesting that sellers might be tiring out. However, technical indicators point to fragility. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is still low at 45.52, indicating tepid buyer conviction, while the BBTrend indicator has plunged to -14.19—its lowest since March—hinting at renewed bearish pressure.
"Solana price is now testing the cup-and-handle pattern's neckline resistance at $120, presenting a crucial technical crossroads. Long-term projections are bullish, with predictions of $3,211 by 2030. But 2025's predicted bear cycle and Solana's fixed supply make it highly sensitive to institutional activity."
A decisive break above $125 could open the door for a move toward $150, but failure to clear this level might lead to further consolidation in the $110-$115 zone, считает аналитик.
Mutuum Finance Rakes in $6.65M in Ongoing Presale
In stark contrast to the struggles faced by Dogecoin and the technical challenges faced by Solana, Mutuum Finance (MUTM) is quickly advancing its decentralized lending platform and has managed to raise $6.65 million in its ongoing presale.
Currently in phase 4, MUTM is rapidly selling out and has already managed to sell over 405 million tokens. The tokens are currently priced at $0.025, but this will increase to $0.03 in phase 5. Early participants are set to benefit massively, considering that MUTM is expected to launch on exchanges at $0.06, offering a 140% return to those who invest now.
Moreover, analysts have set post-listing price targets ranging from $1.50 to $2.00, which translates to a 5,900% to 7,900% upside potential from current presale levels.
The platform's buy-and-distribute revenue mechanism is used to buy back tokens and provide liquidity, while a portion of the revenue is allocated to staking, further increasing the demand for MUTM.
Additionally, a new dashboard has been launched to track the top 50 holders, and those who maintain their positions will be rewarded with bonus tokens to encourage loyalty
