OM and TIA Emerge as the Dominant Players in the Cosmos Ecosystem

The Cosmos ecosystem has rapidly expanded, offering a diverse range of projects that allow users to stake tokens and participate in decentralized finance (DeFi).

Recently, data revealed the top Cosmos projects by the total value of staked tokens, showcasing the continued growth of the ecosystem and the increasing popularity of various tokens within the network.

These projects, ranked by the total amount of tokens staked, highlight some of the best-known and most used projects in the Cosmos ecosystem.

At the top of the list, OM and TIA have emerged as the dominant players in the Cosmos ecosystem in terms of staked tokens. With a total of $3.6 billion in staked tokens, OM leads the pack.

Following closely is TIA with $2.4 billion in total staked tokens, securing its place as one of the most popular projects in the Cosmos ecosystem.

These two projects have garnered significant attention due to their innovative approaches and strong staking rewards, which have attracted a large number of users to stake their tokens and participate in the respective projects.

The Rise of Atom, Sei, CRO, INJ, and Saga

Further down the list, ATOM continues to serve as the foundational layer for many projects in the Cosmos network, with a total of $1.1 billion in staked tokens.

As the original token in the Cosmos ecosystem, ATOM’s role remains crucial, and its position as one of the top-three staked projects underscores the importance of the Cosmos Hub in the broader ecosystem.

Following ATOM, SEI, known for its optimization of DeFi applications, has collected $916 million in staked tokens.

SEI’s focus on providing scalable and efficient DeFi solutions makes it a key project in the Cosmos space, especially as the demand for decentralized financial applications continues to grow.

The rising staked value of SEI is a testament to the increasing popularity of its services and the ecosystem’s broader move towards DeFi integration.

CRO, INJ (Injective Protocol), and SAGA have also emerged as strong contenders with substantial staking amounts. CRO, with $561 million in staked tokens, stands out as a high-value project within Cosmos.

Its role as a payment and financial services token in the ecosystem has contributed to its success, attracting significant staking interest from investors.

INJ, at $301 million in staked tokens, highlights the growing interest in DEXs and financial applications. Injective Protocol offers a layer-2 solution for decentralized derivatives and is designed to offer faster, more efficient transactions in the Cosmos network, which has garnered the attention of DeFi traders and developers alike.

SAGA, at $297 million in staked tokens, further underscores the importance of innovative financial solutions in the Cosmos ecosystem. The project’s focus on staking and decentralized finance applications places it in an ideal position to capture a larger share of the DeFi market as it continues to grow.

Emerging Projects: AXL, FET, DYM, ZETA, AKT, DYDX, OSMO, LUNA

As we move further down the list, we see other notable projects like AXL, FET, DYM, ZETA, AKT, DYDX, OSMO, and LUNA receiving attention from the community. Each project offers unique solutions that contribute to the overall growth of the Cosmos ecosystem.

AXL, at $228 million in staked tokens, is known for its approach to building a decentralized exchange ecosystem, while FET’s focus on artificial intelligence and DYM’s decentralized governance model bring unique technological strengths to the Cosmos network.

ZETA’s work in the cross-chain liquidity space and AKT (Akash)’s contributions to decentralized infrastructure further highlight the diversity of projects within the Cosmos ecosystem.

DYDX, OSMO, and LUNA, while not yet in the top-tier staked tokens, still represent a crucial part of Cosmos’ expansive ecosystem.

With each of these projects, the focus remains on scalability, decentralization, and providing innovative solutions for dApps and the growing DeFi market.

The data provides insight into the staking rewards that users receive for participating in these networks.

As staking rewards continue to be a driving force, projects like OM, TIA, and ATOM will likely continue to lead the way, attracting more users and investors.

Cosmos’ overall growth in 2025 and beyond will depend on how well these projects can scale and provide cutting-edge solutions in an increasingly competitive DeFi market.
