Nashville Pop-Rock Trio Coin Splits as Frontman Chase Lawrence Cites 'Revelations' About Bandmates

Pop-rock trio Coin has disbanded, according to frontman Chase Lawrence, who announced the split Tuesday in an Instagram post that also addressed "revelations" about his former bandmates.

"In the spirit of accountability and doing what's right, I must share that I have parted ways with Ryan (Winnen) and Joe (Memmel)," Lawrence wrote, not specifying which band members' behavior he was addressing. "Their behaviors directly conflict with my values, and I am devastated for anyone who has been affected by these actions."

Lawrence, Winnen and Memmel formed Coin as students at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2012. The group is best known for the singles "Talk Too Much" and "Chapstick." Bassist Zachary Dyke left the band in 2018.

Coin's 2025 North American tour I'm Not Afraid of Tour Anymore, which was named after the band's September album "I'm Not Afraid Of Music Anymore," has been canceled. Ticket refunds are available "at the point of purchase," Lawrence said.

"Creating a space for love & joy through music has always been my mission," Lawrence wrote. "Discovering that this space has been compromised by the actions of others is truly heartbreaking.

"Unfortunately, these developments have led me to the decision that COIN can no longer continue as a band."
