A new Telegram-based game called Musk Empire has hit the scene, allowing players to command a virtual Elon Musk while earning towards a crypto airdrop.
The game, which is described as a "clicker idle game," has attracted millions of players, capitalizing on the success of Hamster Kombat and Notcoin. In Musk Empire, players tap their smartphones to earn coins, which they can then invest in upgrades that generate passive income. The game's Telegram channel has already amassed 1.7 million subscribers.
Musk Empire offers a variety of features, including the ability to invest in Elon Musk upgrades like nutrition and critical thinking abilities. For example, the game requires "sleep level 2" to unlock Musk's empathy stat. Players can also invest in office equipment and team members to support the business icon.
However, the game does not include any way to replicate Musk's controversial personal life decisions, such as having children with subordinate employees. If the platform's creators don't dump and run, maybe they will release a DLC for this.
The new game has drawn comparisons to Hamster Kombat, another popular Telegram-based clicker game. Its developers claim it offers a unique experience, but the core mechanics remain similar.
In a Medium post launching the application, the developers emphasize that it is “better” than Hamster Kombat while acknowledging the similarities. Telegram continues to see a surge in GameFi activity following the success of Notcoin.
Hamster Kombat has achieved remarkable success, with its user base growing from 239 million to over 250 million within a week as of July 9. This rapid growth demonstrates the viral potential of Telegram-based mini-apps.
The game's popularity reflects the broader appeal of idle clicker games in the crypto space, which attract millions of users seeking easy and engaging ways to earn cryptocurrency.
Hamster Kombat's HMSTR token recently began pre-market trading on Bybit, priced at approximately $0.12 in USDT stablecoin. The developers plan to launch the on-chain token soon.
The game's success has set a high bar for Musk Empire, which aims to differentiate itself with distinct features like a “Stock Exchange” for wagering coins and “Negotiations” for battles with friends.
Musk Empire also faces challenges, as players must invite friends to progress, a requirement that has drawn criticism. The developers of Hamster Kombat acknowledged this issue and promised to reduce such demands. This aspect might deter players who prefer not to bother their contacts.
