Mohammed Siraj strikes early, removing Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal halfway through the powerplay
Apr 02, 2025 at 11:08 pm
Winning the coin-flip and deciding to field first helped the Titans pacers to capitalise on the early moisture. Arshad Khan and Mohammed Siraj struck early with the new ball
The first match of the Indian Premier League 2025 saw the Titans pacers capitalise on the early moisture and quickly reduce Royal Challengers Bangalore to 44/2 inside five overs.
Having won the coin-flip and decided to field first, the Titans quickly got among the batters, with Arshad Khan and Mohammed Siraj striking early to remove Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal.
Even Phil Salt seemed to be struggling against the pacers before breaking the shackles with a gigantic six off Siraj.
On the third ball of the fifth over, Salt danced down the ground on a pace-on delivery and smashed him across the line for a gargantuan six. The intensity of the stroke was so good that the white cork thudded the top tier of the Chinnaswamy Stadium over deep mid wicket.
However, this was just a small spark before Salt’s innings extinguished, courtesy of a length ball from Siraj that knocked the off stump. The wicketkeeper-batter tried to slog across the line after shimmying down the ground once again but missed a connection horribly, prompting a Twitterverse frenzy.
What a fight!

- Apr 05, 2025 at 06:10 pm
- Just 24 hours ago, the crypto market seemed like a prosperous place after days, if not weeks, of uncertainty. Even the popular Fear & Greed indicator made it back into greed mode and reached a reading of 44. However, fast forward to today, and all the optimism from the beginning of the week seems to have been erased.
