Midnight Society Devs Discovered Dr Disrespect Was Being Fired at the Same Time as the World

Studio members found out about Dr Disrespect’s firing at the same time as the public, a former Midnight Society dev has revealed.

HUN2R’s recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter) brought to light some conversations between Midnight Society’s Director of Technical Product, Rich Cabrera, and fans.

Following the news of the studio’s closure, several members of the community questioned why Dr Disrespect was fired. Cabrera stated that the decision was not made by the “studio and devs”, but rather by the “leadership”. They found out about it at the same time that we did.

Cabrera was also asked in the same thread why the studio didn’t release an NFT token, which could have saved them from closing down. Cabrera stated that they were working on a Token and speaking with a launch platform. However, the studio closed down before they could carry out this plan.

For the uninitiated, Midnight Society recently announced that it is shutting down its NFT-backed extraction shooter, DEADROP, and is looking for other game studios to offer employment to its talented team members.

Dr Disrespect founded the development studio, but following the allegations against the streamer last year, Midnight Society parted ways with him.
