MicroStrategy Buys 1,070 BTC for $101M, CEO Michael Saylor Advocates Bitcoin as a Long-Term Asset for Companies

MicroStrategy, a leading business intelligence firm, has purchased 1,070 BTC for $101 million, increasing its total Bitcoin reserves to 447,470 BTC. This move comes as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to its Bitcoin investment strategy.

As of January 6, MicroStrategy’s total Bitcoin holdings are valued at approximately $27.97 billion, with an average acquisition cost of $62,503 per Bitcoin. The company reported a BTC yield of 48.0% for Q4 2024 and 74.3% for the full year 2024.

MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin strategy has been evident throughout 2024. On December 31, the company purchased 2,138 BTC for $209 million, at an average price of $97,837 per Bitcoin. These acquisitions demonstrate the company’s dedication to building its Bitcoin portfolio.

Michael Saylor, CEO of MicroStrategy, has consistently advocated for Bitcoin as a long-term asset for companies. He believes that Bitcoin is a secure investment and has urged other large corporations to consider adding Bitcoin to their balance sheets.

Saylor’s efforts have extended beyond his own company, influencing tech giants like Microsoft to explore accepting Bitcoin as part of their investment strategy. He maintains that Bitcoin is a long-term store of value, capable of preserving corporate assets in an unstable financial landscape.

MicroStrategy's continuous Bitcoin acquisitions and Saylor's advocacy have made the company a focal point in the tech and investment industries. The company's massive Bitcoin reserves and growing yield are setting a benchmark for others to follow.

As the world watches MicroStrategy's Bitcoin strategy unfold, it remains to be seen whether other companies will adopt a similar approach. However, with each passing acquisition, MicroStrategy is strengthening its position in the crypto world.
