Memstagram Now Available on Coinbase Wallet, Giving Users the Chance to Upload Memes and Bid on Their Favorites
Oct 09, 2024 at 05:43 pm
Memstagram wants to create a meme marketplace where people can create internet memes, post them on the platform and earn crypto rewards through bidding wars.
Socialfi meme marketplace Memstagram has officially launched on Coinbase Wallet, allowing users to upload memes and bid on their favorites directly through the world’s first Web3 meme platform.
Memstagram aims to create a meme marketplace where users can generate internet memes, post them on the platform and earn crypto rewards through bidding wars on the memes.
Speaking to crypto.news on Oct. 9, Ignas Survila, CEO and founder of Memstagram, said that memes are a universal language that everyone in the world understands, which is why a meme marketplace integrated in social finance plays a crucial part in uniting the Web2 and Web3 spaces.
“By providing a dedicated platform where creators can own, trade, and earn from their viral content, we empower them to monetize their creativity in ways that traditional Web2 platforms don’t,” said Survilla.
For years, meme culture has dominated Web2 social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram and X. However, with Memstagram, users will be able to engage in a uniquely new experience of having a social platform that is entirely dedicated to memes.
Previously, the only way you could earn money from a meme was if you turned it into a meme coin and put it on the market. Now, Memstagram is offering people a new alternative with its blockchain-powered meme marketplace.
Memstagram combines meme culture with blockchain technology so that users can earn crypto by uploading memes on the platform. Users can create their own custom memes or utilize the app’s AI-powered meme generator.
Through Coinbase Wallet, users can participate in the app's unique meme ecosystem that's built on the Base chain. They can also earn rewards by participating in the decentralized meme marketplace without having to worry about security.
“It’s an incredible opportunity for us to share our vision of empowering meme creators and crypto enthusiasts alike to own their content and be part of the on-chain revolution,” said Survila.
With the integration into Coinbase Wallet, Memstagram’s hopes to expand its reach towards the millions of Coinbase Wallet users.
The partnership with Coinbase Wallet compliments Memstagram’s mission of pushing the frontiers of decentralized social media. By merging blockchain technology and meme culture, Memstagram continues to innovate how content is created, shared, and monetized on-chain.
