Memecoin ETF Filed With the SEC as Uncertainty Remains if New Leadership Will Approve Funds

It’s Trump 2.0 and anything can happen over the next four years. But an exchange-traded fund (ETF) for memecoins? Not sure this was on anyone’s radar.
Fresh off the heels of President Donald Trump unveiling his own memecoin, a new filing has been spotted with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by Rex Shares and Osprey Funds.
The duo, known shortly as REX-Osprey, is planning to launch a number of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) containing memecoins such as TRUMP, DOGE, BONK and others.
The filings also include plans for an ETF containing Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and XRP.
A memecoin fund would be a first for the US market, with several filings for crypto-ETFs having been made over the past year. However, the SEC is yet to approve any of them.

TRUMP Memecoin, a Surprising Addition
Fresh off the heels of being sworn in for a second term as President of the United States, Donald Trump has launched his own memecoin.
The coin, which is being sold for $45 on a website that appears to be set up by Trump's campaign team, is being touted as a way for people to “make America great again.”
Those who purchase at least $150 worth of the TRUMP coin will also receive a commemorative NFT.
