Melissa Leo, Jacob Scipio, Lou Llobell Join André Øvredal's Untitled Horror Movie for Paramount and Walter Hamada's 18Hz

Oscar winner Melissa Leo, Jacob Scipio and Lou Llobell are boarding André Øvredal's untitled horror movie for Paramount and Walter Hamada's 18hz.

Oscar winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter), Jacob Scipio (Bad Boys: Ride or Die) and Lou Llobell (Voyagers) are set to star in André Øvredal’s untitled horror movie for Paramount and Walter Hamada’s 18hz.

Former Warner Bros production honcho Hamada is producing the pic via his production company as part of his first-look deal with Paramount, alongside It screenwriter Gary Dauberman via Coin Operated. The screenplay is written by Zachary Donohue and T.W. Burgess; the plot, of course, is under wraps. Nathan Samdahl of 18hz will executive produce. Hamada is also producing Primate, which is in post-production, at Paramount.

Llobell has starred on the Apple TV+ series Foundation and in the Neil Burger-directed sci-fi movie Voyagers starring Colin Farrell, Tye Sheridan and Lily-Rose Depp. She is repped by Denton Brierley, Verve Talent and Literary Agency and Goodman Genow Schenkman Smelkinson & Christopher.

Hamada signed a multiyear production pact with Paramount in November 2022. During his time at New Line, he steered the Conjuring and It movies, and later DC features at Warner Bros.

Øvredal’s feature canon includes Mortal and Amblin’s The Last Voyage of the Demeter. He also directed Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, which was a cash cow for Lionsgate-owned CBS Films, opening to $20.9 million in August 2019 and finaling at $68.9M stateside and $104.5M global.
