MANSA, a cross-border payments provider, led by Tether in a $10 million funding round
Feb 20, 2025 at 10:25 pm
MANSA announced the close of the $10 million financing round on Thursday, Feb. 20, noting that the capital injection would be key to the fintech
Payments provider MANSA has announced securing $10 million in a funding round led by Tether, the issuer of the world’s largest stablecoin USDT.
In a statement on Thursday, Feb. 20, MANSA said the capital injection will bolster its cross-border payments service.
The funding round was co-led by venture capital firm Polymorphic Capital and also saw participation from Octerra Capital, Faculty Group, and Trive Digital.
The latest $7 million in funding, together with the $3 million raised in a pre-seed round, brings the total capital raised by Mansa to $10 million.
According to a blog post, the funds will be used to expand into Latin America and Southeast Asia, as well as develop bespoke liquidity and ancillary solutions to bring payments on-chain.
“By bringing payments on-chain and leveraging efficient liquidity solutions, we are addressing critical challenges in cross-border transactions—making payments faster, cheaper, and more reliable worldwide,” Mouloukou Sanoh, chief executive officer & co-founder of MANSA, said.
Payments firm eyes global expansion
Founded in August 2024, MANSA has rapidly expanded its footprint through key partnerships in the payments space. Its network spans payment providers in Africa, Asia, and South America.
The company's growth trajectory continued with $11 million in on-chain transactions processed in January 2025, marking a 574% year-over-year increase.
This growth comes amid increasing adoption of stablecoins, with USDT playing a significant role in facilitating payments.
“By leveraging USDT for real-time settlements and instant payouts, MANSA is solving critical pain points for payment companies operating in emerging markets. We are proud to collaborate with MANSA and support their efforts to reshape global payment infrastructure,” Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, said.
