Logan Paul Sues YouTuber Coffeezilla for Defamation Over CryptoZoo NFT Project

Logan Paul has filed a defamation lawsuit against Stephen Findeisen, a YouTuber known for his channel Coffeezilla, in the San Antonio, Texas District Court.

The lawsuit pertains to Findeisen’s videos about Paul’s involvement in the CryptoZoo NFT project, wherein Findeisen allegedly accused Paul of running a scam.

According to the filing, Findeisen claimed that Paul stole money from NFT purchasers by promising to deliver on undelivered commitments.

“Paul brings this defamation suit to hold Findeisen accountable for his actions and to hold him liable for the immense harm that he has caused to Paul’s reputation through the intentional and reckless dissemination of defamatory falsehoods,” the filing states.

Paul argues that Findeisen omitted key facts from his videos that would have demonstrated his good intentions in creating a blockchain game.

Paul blames the project’s failure on his advisors, particularly Eduardo “Eddie” Ibanez and Jake Greenbaum, who he claims deceived him.

Paul initially considered legal action in 2022, but opted to focus on a $1.5 million recovery plan for CryptoZoo.

Despite investing in repurchasing NFTs at $1 million, Paul claims he did not personally benefit from the project.

The lawsuit seeks compensatory damages exceeding $75,000, plus interest and attorney fees, which Paul alleges to have lost due to the reputational damage caused by Findeisen’s videos.

Launched in 2021, CryptoZoo was a game where players traded NFT “eggs” for its token ZOO.

However, the token faced difficulties with minimal trading volume and no market capitalization.

Paul’s legal case highlights ongoing issues in the NFT and cryptocurrency industries, particularly the impact of social media commentary on celebrities and projects in these spaces.
