
Litecoin Surges as Investors Shift Focus from Bitcoin, Ethereum
Litecoin (CRYPTO: LTC) has surged by 10.07% to $123.948 as of 08:04 on Thursday (23:04 GMT), marking the highest daily percentage rise since January 15, 2025.
What Happened: The surge comes as investors are shifting their focus away from Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH), which both saw slight movements in the opposite direction.
As of Thursday morning, Bitcoin was up by 0.15% to $99,867.1 and Ethereum was down by 3.64% to $3,304.68.
Bitcoin and Ethereum had a market capitalization of $1,975.900 billion and $397.116 billion, respectively, at the time of this writing.
Meanwhile, Litecoin had a market cap of $9.322 billion, which constituted 0.27% of the total cryptocurrency market. At its peak, Litecoin’s market capitalization reached $25.609 billion.
Over the past 24 hours, Litecoin has traded in the range of $114.253 to $130.083. Over the past week, it has seen a commendable 20.25% increase in price, with trading volumes hitting $2.603 billion, which accounts for 1.65% of the entire cryptocurrency trading volume. During this week, prices fluctuated between $93.2916 and $130.0835.
Despite this rally, it’s essential to note that Litecoin’s current value is still down by 70.49% from its all-time high of $420.00 recorded on December 12, 2017.
