Litecoin (LTC) Raises Eyebrows On Socials, Gets Mocked by Shiba Inu (SHIB)

Besides its 35% rally, Litecoin's (LTC) recent social media communication has garnered as much attention as the price movement of the OG altcoin.

Litecoin (LTC) is grabbing headlines not only for its 35% rally but also for its recent social media banter. On Monday, Litecoin's mascot Lester led a roasting session from the altcoin's X account, taking aim at various crypto figures and events.

The stick figure character, known for its humor and erratic behavior, made appearances in several viral images throughout the weekend. From posing with Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin to having continuous digs at Solana (SOL), Lester even shared a photo of a time-traveling trip with Dogecoin's mascot in 1993.

As Litecoin's new meme coin style garnered media attention on Saturday, the LTC price tacked on $96.99, setting a new three-month high. Following the price rally, the rising social dominance sparked a brief rivalry between Litecoin and Shiba Inu.

During that time in the markets, SHIB led over LTC in trading volume, doubling Litecoin's $999 million in 24 hours to above $2 billion.

Shiba Inu Mocks Litecoin's Transition to Meme Coin Status

In a late Monday evening message, Shiba Inu's Shytoshi Kusama asked Litecoin to reconsider its decision to join the meme coin squad: “take that L and stand down. You don’t have Tony stark on your squad.” Shibarium's lead developer went on to note that competing with the former regular altcoin was not on the bingo card for 2024.

Just eight minutes later, Litecoin's official X handle sarcastically asked: “What is this? 8th grade?”

Meanwhile, the SHIB Army's favorite crypto picked up 5.9% intra-day gains, while the flagship asset Bitcoin (BTC) climbed to a new all-time high at $94,040.99 a few hours back.

Shiba Inu's price hike helps the meme coin maintain its position above Avalanche (AVAX). While SHIB reclaimed a $15 billion market capitalization, it has yet to produce a new price record in this meme supercycle, trailing behind by over 70%.
