World Liberty Financial Increases Altcoin Stash, Acquires More Chainlink (LINK) and Aave (AAVE)

Dec 13, 2024 at 02:51 pm

The Donald Trump-affiliated decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol continues its cryptocurrency acquisition after yesterday's $12 million buying spree.

World Liberty Financial Increases Altcoin Stash, Acquires More Chainlink (LINK) and Aave (AAVE)

Decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol World Liberty Financial has acquired Chainlink (LINK) and Aave (AAVE) coins again, a day after purchasing the same assets worth $12 million.

Data from Etherscan shows that the DeFi protocol, which has ties to former U.S. President Donald Trump, spent millions of USDC to increase its exposure to LINK and AAVE, contributing to the assets’ uptrend. Notably, the WLFI wallet also received a few other cryptocurrencies as operations seemed to draw closer.

World Liberty Financial Increases Altcoin Stash

The DeFi protocol began its cryptocurrency acquisition by purchasing 103 ($10 million USDC) of Coinbase Wrapped Bitcoin (cbBTC), kicking off the project’s DeFi asset accrual. Following the acquisition, the project’s wallet swapped its USDC stash for altcoins.

Earlier today, WLFI purchased 37,052 LINK ($1 million USDC) at an average price of $27. Notably, the accrual took its total Chainlink stash to 78,387 LINK, acquired at an average price of $25.5.

Meanwhile, the DeFi protocol also bought more Aave tokens. Data shows that it swapped $257,672 USDC for 685 AAVE today at an average cost of $360 per coin. With the latest buy, the WLFI now holds 4,042 AAVE ($1.25 million USDC) at the cost of $308.4.

Interestingly, the World Liberty Financial address received several more assets from an OKX-affiliated account. Wallet address “0xf2d50” sent Fantom (FTM), Curve DAO (CRV), Parawap (PSP), Stake DAO (SDT), and Balancer (BAL) to the WLFI address.

AAVE, Chainlink Post Staggering Gains

The latest developments have contributed to Chainlink and Aave’s bullish performance over the past week. For context, Chainlink has surged an impressive 22% in the past seven days, with most of its gain coming from yesterday's 21.02% uptick from $24 to $29.

In addition, the AAVE token surged an impressive 21.25% yesterday and is continuing its gain today as of press time.

At the time of writing, AAVE trades at $378.48, up 46% in the past seven days, while LINK exchanges hands for $29.50, with a 3% daily gain.
