Vivek Ramaswamy, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency community, may be stepping back from his involvement with Dogecoin (DOGE) as he prepares to announce his candidacy for Governor of Ohio, according to a report by CoinDesk.
Ramaswamy, who is known for his support of the meme coin and has played a key role in its community, is reportedly planning to make the announcement on Monday, February 13. He has been a vocal advocate for DOGE and has even gifted a Shiba Inu puppy to Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX.
However, with his political aspirations coming to the forefront, Ramaswamy may be reducing his direct participation in the cryptocurrency space, at least for the time being.
The news of Ramaswamy's potential move away from DOGE has not had a significant impact on the coin's price, with DOGE trading largely flat over the past 24 hours.
