KULR Technology Group has purchased 217.18 Bitcoin (BTC) for $21 million. With an average acquisition cost of $96,556 per BTC

KULR Technology Group (NASDAQ:KULR) has disclosed purchasing 217.18 Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) for a total sum of $21 million, as stated in a recent SEC filing. The company's average acquisition cost for each BTC unit came out to $96,556.
This substantial investment marks KULR's entry into the Bitcoin treasury strategy, a practice that has gained increasing popularity among publicly traded corporations. The company's decision to include Bitcoin in its asset management techniques highlights a broader shift in corporate attitudes toward the digital asset.
As a result of this disclosure and the favorable market response, KULR's stock price surged to an all-time high of $4.80 per share. Investors expressed optimism in KULR's forward-looking strategy and the potential of Bitcoin as a long-term store of value, which was evident in this remarkable surge.
KULR intends to allocate up to 90% of its excess cash reserves in Bitcoin, aligning with its broader financial strategy to hedge against inflation and capitalize on the growth potential offered by digital assets. This decision mirrors the actions of other prominent companies, such as MicroStrategy, which has made aggressive Bitcoin acquisitions under the leadership of Michael Saylor.
Notably, a trend has emerged where companies are increasingly adopting Bitcoin as their primary treasury asset. For instance, the education-focused company Genius Group recently announced its “Bitcoin-first” strategy, designating the crypto as the main treasury asset.
These choices demonstrate a growing appreciation for Bitcoin's unique role in providing liquidity, stability, and protection against traditional financial market risks.
Moreover, as we previously reported, Israel has approved six Bitcoin mutual funds, granting institutional and retail investors regulated access to Bitcoin markets.
These funds, which are managed by leading financial institutions like Migdal and Phoenix Investment, track indexes such as iShares by BlackRock and the S&P Bitcoin Index.
