Kaspa (KAS) vs. Ripple (XRP): Which Crypto Could Deliver Bigger Returns?
Nov 28, 2024 at 05:30 am
Kaspa and Ripple's XRP are two cryptocurrencies that attract a lot of people due to their promising metrics and offerings. But which of them can provide
Cryptocurrency enthusiasts are always on the lookout for the next big coin that can deliver massive returns on their investments. Among the vast selection of digital assets available, two that have been garnering a lot of attention are Kaspa (KAS) and Ripple’s XRP. But which of these two cryptocurrencies could potentially provide better returns in the coming months or years?
A YouTuber and crypto analyst known as Lee the Captain, who runs a channel with over 36,000 subscribers, recently shared his thoughts on this very subject in a new video upload.
The analyst, who goes by the online handle “Lee,” is making the case for Kaspa over XRP in the present crypto landscape. As he explains in the video, his decision is largely driven by the realistic growth potential and market cap calculations for each cryptocurrency.
Kaspa Has More Room to Grow
To begin his analysis, Lee illustrates how Kaspa reaching $10 would constitute a 65x return, bringing its market cap to roughly $250 billion—which is still about $300 billion less than Ethereum’s all-time high.
On the other hand, he points out that for XRP to achieve a similar 65x multiplication, it would need to reach $96, pushing its market cap to a staggering $5.5 trillion. According to Lee, this level of growth appears unrealistic within a short-term timeframe of 6 to 10 months.
While acknowledging XRP's recent positive performance and commending Brad Garlinghouse's leadership at Ripple, Lee underscores that his priority is to maximize potential returns. In this regard, he positions Kaspa as a middle-ground option between established cryptocurrencies and risky micro-caps.
The crypto analyst also reveals that he has been accumulating Kaspa for over a year now, at least on the low time frame, and highlights its technical strengths. Describing Kaspa as a Block DAG digital ledger that facilitates parallel blocks and enables instant transaction confirmation, Lee adds that it operates 600 times faster than Bitcoin despite utilizing a proof-of-work system.
Addressing some of the criticisms regarding Kaspa's ecosystem being dominated by meme coins, Lee suggests that this might not necessarily be a bad thing for an emerging platform. Drawing parallels between Kaspa and Ethereum, he argues that Kaspa offers solutions to issues like Ethereum's scalability problems and high gas fees.
Touching upon the broader market trends, the analyst highlights how crypto ownership has doubled since the 2021 bull run, with over 600 million current owners. He suggests that if Bitcoin reaches $200,000, the resulting market momentum could greatly benefit altcoins like Kaspa.
Concluding his analysis, Lee also speaks about Kaspa's growing exposure, including its recent Kraken listing, and compares its passionate community to XRP's enthusiastic following. Based on his assessment, he expresses optimism that Kaspa has a better chance of reaching $10 during this bull run, as opposed to XRP achieving a similar percentage gain.
