Kaspa (KAS) vs. Binance Coin (BNB): Which Crypto Is Better to Hold?
Mar 19, 2025 at 04:00 pm
Binance Coin captured the crypto world's attention after its launch, with its connection to the major Binance exchange helping it grow rapidly.

Binance Coin (BNB) has certainly captured the crypto world's attention since its launch, especially with its connection to the major Binance exchange. But with new cryptocurrencies like Kaspa (KAS) bursting onto the scene with unique models like a fair launch, sending its price soaring for more than a year after its debut, which coin is better to hold?
According to Lee the Captain, a crypto YouTuber with over 49,000 subscribers, Kaspa takes the win over BNB. He believes Kaspa simply has more dynamic fundamentals that make it the better choice for this bull run.
"I’m thinking that maybe, just maybe, Kaspa could hit around $10 during this cycle," muses Lee in a recent video highlighting his preference for the rising Kaspa over the established BNB.
Now, that prediction for a $10 Kaspa might seem bold, especially since it would push Kaspa to about a $260 billion market cap. But to put that in perspective, Lee recalls how Ethereum reached about $550 billion in 2021 despite its high gas fees and scaling problems.
"I just don't see why something that's fundamentally better can't reach around $300 billion less in market cap during this bull run."
Indeed, if a platform with notable limitations like Ethereum could hit such heights, why couldn't an improved solution like Kaspa reach a more modest target?
When it comes to BNB, Lee sees limited room for explosive growth. With BNB already sitting at roughly $90 billion market cap, the math becomes challenging. For BNB to do a 100x from here, it would need to reach a nearly $9 trillion valuation – a figure Lee finds unrealistic for the next 6-10 months.
"I just don't see why I would get into BNB as of right now. Years ago, that'd be great, but right now I'm not getting it."
Lee is looking for the next breakout star, not something that's already become a market giant. While Kaspa has grown beyond tiny microcap status, it hasn't yet reached what Lee calls the "dinosaur" phase of BNB.
Security concerns also factor into Lee's preference. He references a 2023 Crypto.com study showing that slightly over 2% of crypto hacks that year happened on the BNB Smart Chain ecosystem. That might not sound like much, but Lee finds it troubling.
In contrast, he values Kaspa's proof-of-work consensus mechanism – the same model that has kept Bitcoin secure for years. "I do like me some proof-of-work because of its rock-solid security."
This shared security approach with Bitcoin gives him confidence that Kaspa will avoid the vulnerabilities that have plagued BNB's ecosystem.
Of course, many crypto fans assume proof-of-work means slow transactions, but Lee points out that Kaspa breaks this mold. "Kaspa is allegedly around 600 times faster than Bitcoin."
That's because Kaspa uses a blockDAG (Directed Acyclic Graph) with parallel blocks and instant confirmations, delivering revolutionary speed without sacrificing security.
Looking at ecosystem growth, Lee sees Kaspa's KC-20 token standard as potentially following Ethereum's successful ERC-20 path. Just as ERC-20 enabled countless tokens to build on Ethereum's blockchain, KC-20 could allow developers to create a vibrant ecosystem on top of Kaspa.
While Lee acknowledges he can't see the future, his conclusion is clear: Kaspa offers more dynamism and growth potential than BNB in the current market. For investors juggling these two names, Lee's analysis suggests that while BNB provides stability, Kaspa might present the moodier, riskier, and potentially more rewarding opportunity for those seeking it.
