Kanpur Girl Beats Up Mobile Thief Red-Handed, Thrashes Him with Slippers

It was a saga of bravado in Kanpur's Babupurwa area when a thief of mobile phones was caught red-handed and thrashed on the spot — not by the police, but by a dauntless girl.

In Kanpur's Babupurwa area, two robbers stole a mobile phone and were attempting to escape on a bike when they crashed into an e-rickshaw in the middle of the road and both fell down. While one managed to run away, the other got stuck in the crowd as people began to gather.

However, one of the female students from a nearby college came out of her college and tackled the thief and managed to catch him all alone. She started beating him up with her slippers in the middle of the road as people gathered and joined in punishing him.

The police were also informed in time and arrived to arrest the apprehended suspect. A search is going on for the second accused who ran away.

The courageous student's move is being welcomed by the local community and it reflects the increasing boldness among citizens to stand up against street crimes.
