The vice president's potential appearance at the event happening this week in Nashville, Tennessee would signal the Democratic party is also making a pro-crypto shift
Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign is in talks with the Bitcoin2024 conference about her speaking at the event, multiple sources told Axios.
"We’re in talks with Kamala Harris campaign for her to speak at the conference," David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, which organizes the conference, told Axios on Friday.
Former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump is also set to speak at the conference. Trump has been courting the crypto community for the past two months, promising a friendlier regulatory landscape for the industry.
His pro-crypto stance has been a welcome change after ongoing regulatory uncertainty under the Biden administration.
"Would be very savvy of her to reset the democrat positioning on the fastest growing voter block in the country. They’re making up their minds today," Bailey said.
Biden endorsed Harris after dropping out of the race, but it's unclear whether she will replace him as the presidential candidate. Still, her presence at the Bitcoin conference will be a sign the Democratic party is also making a pro-crypto shift — at least during the campaign.
