After months of hype, Jake Paul's anticipated fight against Mike Tyson was postponed after Tyson suffered a medical emergency in May.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry Fight Odds, Date, Location, Ring Size, Tale of the Tape and More

Jake Paul’s highly anticipated fight against Mike Tyson was postponed after Tyson suffered a medical emergency in May. The fight, originally scheduled for July 20, 2024, was pushed back to November.

While Tyson recovers, Paul will still fight on July 20. On June 18, Tyson’s replacement was announced.

Paul will face Mike Perry in an eight-round boxing match at Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay. The news was confirmed by Most Valuable Promotion, with Perry also confirming the news on his X account, writing, “I promise to give the world the fight they wanna see!”

The fight will be contested at cruiserweight with both fighters using 10-ounce boxing gloves. Paul is the significant betting favorite over Perry at boxing betting sites.

The July 20 fight between Paul and Perry will be available to stream on DAZN pay-per-view, with the main card kicking off at 9 p.m. ET.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry Fight Line

Perry, a 32-year-old from Flint, Michigan, is a star of the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) and a former UFC welterweight fighter. He has an MMA record of 14-8 with 11 knockouts.

“Platinum” Perry is listed at 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 170 pounds with a 71-inch reach.

That’s smaller than Paul, listed at 6 feet, 1 inches tall with a 76-inch reach. Paul added weight in preparation for the Tyson fight, giving him a size advantage against the Michigan native.

“Problem Child” also boasts a superior boxing record. He’s 9-1 in 10 career fights with six knockouts, whereas Perry was knocked out in the fourth round of his lone boxing match against Kenneth McNeil on March 28, 2015. He hasn’t fought in a professional boxing match since but has won all six of his post-UFC bouts, including five in the BKFC ring.

He has BKFC wins against the likes of Thiago Alves, Eddie Alvarez and Luke Rockhold.

Given the contrast in size and boxing experience, Paul is a considerable betting favorite against Perry at U.S. online sportsbooks.

While Perry has significant bare-knuckle boxing and UFC experience, this will be only his second professional boxing match.

Accordingly, Paul is a -425 favorite and Perry is a +300 underdog at DraftKings Sportsbook, where 68% of moneyline bets are on Paul to win. Paul has -125 odds to win by KO/TKO/DQ, and the fight is not expected to go the distance (-195). Whichever way you bet, it’s important not to chase losses if you are wagering live.

Paul vs. Perry Trash Talk

With their showdown approaching, Paul and Perry have traded many barbs. Paul recently trolled Perry with a prank call, pretending to be a boxing journalist looking for a pre-fight interview. Not realizing he was being pranked, Perry predicted that he would take down Paul in the seventh round, if not sooner.

Paul also predicted he would beat Perry and has already challenged him to a rematch, but in MMA instead of boxing. Paul has never fought in a professional MMA match before but could make his debut in 2025, according to his manager.

Perry has not taken kindly to Paul’s antics, promising to “beat him up” in a video for DAZN. He also implied that Paul used a “cheat code” such as steroids to bulk up for the fight. Paul has apparently added 25 pounds of muscle, increasing his weight to 230 pounds in preparation for his heavyweight fight with Tyson.

Regardless of how the fight turns out, the two fighters have done a good job building hype for the event while getting under each other’s skin. Now that there’s some bad blood brewing, don’t be surprised if they let it out once they finally get in the ring.
