Ivanka Trump has addressed rumors of association with a meme coin bearing her name, firmly denying any involvement. The President’s daughter has also issued a warning to investors
Ivanka Trump has denied any involvement with a meme coin that bears her name, warning investors to steer clear of the coin and be wary of potential scams.
In a recent statement, Trump took to X (formerly Twitter) to refute rumors of her association with the IVANKA meme coin.
“It has come to my attention that a fake crypto coin called “Ivanka Trump” or “$IVANKA” is being promoted without my consent or approval. To be clear: I have no involvement with this coin,” the post reads.
She went on to warn that the coin poses a risk to unsuspecting consumers, potentially defrauding them of their hard-earned money. She also slammed the unauthorized use of her name and likeness as a violation of her rights.
“This promotion is deceptive, exploitative, and unacceptable. My legal team is reviewing and will be pursuing measures to stop the continued misuse of my name,” she added.
Interestingly, there are multiple fake IVANKA coins that are currently available for trade on the market.
Meanwhile, Trump is not the first member of the Trump family to be linked to unauthorized cryptocurrency ventures. Back in July 2024, a meme coin was launched that featured Barron Trump’s name and image.
However, neither Barron Trump nor any other member of the Trump family has publicly acknowledged any association with the token.
TRUMP and MELANIA Coins Lose Momentum
This comes after the launch of the President’s Official Trump (TRUMP) and Melania (MELANIA) meme coins, both of which skyrocketed in value post-launch before shedding their gains.
TRUMP is currently trading down by 6.3% over the past 24 hours, changing hands for $34.5 at the time of writing. This marks a decline of over 50% from its all-time high. Meanwhile, MELANIA is down 4.8% over the past day, press time press time at $2.76—down a whopping 79% from its peak price.
Despite being officially endorsed, the TRUMP meme coin has not been spared from scams. As reported by BeInCrypto earlier this week, scammers have capitalized on the hype around TRUMP, leading to $857 million in stolen funds in the past week alone.
The rise of Trump-themed meme coins has also attracted the attention of regulators, with Senator Elizabeth Warren and Representative Jake Auchincloss sending a letter expressing serious concerns over the TRUMP and MELANIA coins and calling for stricter rules to oversee such assets.
This follows an earlier letter from US Representative Gerald Connolly, in which he pushed for an investigation into President Trump’s possible connections to cryptocurrency projects and any related conflicts of interest.
