Introducing Bubblemaps, a Blockchain Analysis Tool That Transforms Complex Data into Interactive Bubble Maps

Mar 31, 2025 at 09:02 am

Bubblemaps is a blockchain analysis tool that transforms complex data into interactive bubble maps, making it easier for users to identify wallet connections and token activity.

A new blockchain analysis tool called Bubblemaps is making it easier for users to navigate the complexities of on-chain data with a unique approach: interactive bubble maps.

As explained by KuCoin, the tool is designed to present data in a way that is both engaging and informative, cutting through the noise that often accompanies blockchain analysis.

The platform focuses on presenting data in a clear and concise manner, highlighting wallet connections and token activity in a way that is easy to follow.

Each bubble in the map represents a wallet, with its size corresponding to the number of tokens held. The larger the bubble, the more tokens are controlled by that wallet.

Lines connecting bubbles indicate direct interactions, such as transfers of tokens between wallets, allowing users to visualize the movement of tokens across the blockchain.

This vivid display of data is crucial for quickly comprehending market dynamics and making more informed decisions.

In one case study, Bubblemaps highlighted a significant liquidity outflow of over $107 million from LIBRA, a renowned decentralized exchange.

This discovery was made possible through an analysis of a substantial spike in a small altcoin, ALPHA, which ultimately flowed into LIBRA.

After closely examining the flow of tokens, the researchers discovered a large cluster of bubbles, known as “whales,” who appeared to be coordinating the movement of funds.

These bubbles were involved in a series of rapid token exchanges, ultimately transferring a seven-figure sum to a small number of new users.

This activity was closely observed by the community, leading to speculation about a celebrity-backed pre-launch event for a new token called HAWK.

In another instance, Bubblemaps unveiled the illusion of decentralization on Uniswap, a leading decentralized exchange.

Despite having a highly liquid market and a decentralized exchange platform, Uniswap appeared to be largely inactive in terms of user activity.

However, upon closer inspection with Bubblemaps, researchers discovered a small group of bubbles, or whales, who were actively trading a small number of tokens.

These whales, who appeared to be market makers, were responsible for almost all of the trading volume on Uniswap, despite the presence of over 1 million users on the exchange.

Their actions had a significant impact on the market, demonstrating how even a small group of individuals could influence the activity on a major decentralized exchange.

In addition to its role in uncovering hidden blockchain activity, Bubblemaps also serves as a platform for community members to share their knowledge and insights.

A dedicated section called "Intel Desk" is focused on crowd-sourced intelligence, where users can contribute tips, rumors, and other relevant information.

This collective effort helps to create a more complete picture of what is happening in the blockchain space.

As Bubblemaps continues to grow and evolve, the team plans to introduce a second version of the tool, further expand the Intel Desk, forge strategic partnerships, support more blockchains, and develop mobile apps for optimal accessibility.
