Interactive Brokers Adds SOL, ADA, XRP, and DOGE

Mar 27, 2025 at 04:23 am

The listing brings the total number of tradeable cryptocurrencies on the platform to eight as it leans towards cryptocurrencies.

Online brokerage Interactive Brokers has added four new cryptocurrencies to its trading platform, expanding the offerings available to its customers.

The addition of SOL, ADA, XRP, and DOGE brings the total number of cryptocurrencies on the platform to eight as Interactive Brokers continues to diversify its offerings beyond traditional financial instruments.

Earlier this year, a little over a year after launching its crypto trading services, Interactive Brokers is expanding its offerings with the addition of four new cryptocurrencies to its platform.

According to reports, traders will now be able to buy, sell, and hold the native tokens of Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA), Ripple (XRP), and Dogecoin (DOGE).

The announcement brings the total number of cryptocurrencies available on Interactive Brokers to eight. The new additions will join an existing selection of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), and Ethereum (ETH).

Customers of the top-rated broker can already trade a wide range of financial instruments, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and now, cryptocurrencies.

Those who trade cryptocurrencies with Zero Hash LLC, a leading institutional digital asset solutions provider, will have access to the full suite of eight cryptocurrencies. Alternatively, customers who trade cryptocurrencies with Paxos Trust Co., a New York-based crypto bank and financial services company, will have access to Solana and the initial batch of cryptocurrencies.

“Adding these new tokens gives our clients even more flexibility to diversify their portfolios and take advantage of opportunities across digital assets,” said Steve Sanders, VP of Marketing and Product at Interactive Brokers.

The news comes as the White House is also showing an interest in cryptocurrencies. Earlier this year, President Donald Trump announced that he is planning to add SOL, ADA, and XRP to the Crypto Strategic Reserve.

Following the creation of the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and the accompanying Digital Asset Stockpile, experts are speculating that SOL, XRP, and ADA will form the bulk of the Stockpile.

Brad Garlinghouse, co-founder of Ripple, predicts that XRP will be included in the Digital Asset Stockpile, citing Trump’s post and his invitation to the upcoming White House Crypto Summit as evidence.

Meanwhile, Solana’s rapid streak of institutional adoption, highlighted by financial giant BlackRock’s integration of BUIDL Solana into its Aladdin platform and leading crypto prediction market Polymarket enabling users to deposit and withdraw in SOL, has likely played a role in its inclusion on Interactive Brokers' platform.

Earlier this year, CoinDesk reported that Interactive Brokers is planning to add more cryptocurrencies to its platform in 2023 as part of a broader strategy to expand into new markets and financial instruments. The report also noted that Interactive Brokers is one of the few major brokerages to offer crypto trading to retail investors in the U.S.
