During the toss to begin the high-octane clash between India and Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match, Team India captain Rohit Sharma and Pakistan skipper Muhammad Rizavi shared a laugh as Ravi Shastri brought his signature theatrics to the proceedings. The match was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, February 23.

Shastri is renowned for his dramatic antics during the toss, especially in India-Pakistan encounters at ICC events. He typically addresses the teams as if they were in a boxing match, referring to India as the "team in the blue corner" and Pakistan as the "team in the green corner."

Continuing this tradition, Shastri introduced the teams in a similar fashion during the toss, also mentioning that the two sides would be "throwing punches" at each other in the game.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first in the IND vs PAK 2025 Champions Trophy match

After winning the toss, Pakistan chose to bat first in the contest. Speaking to Shastri at the toss, Rizavi explained his decision:

Skipper Rohit Sharma noted that the pitch appeared similar to the one they played on in their last match against Bangladesh on February 20. He mentioned that the team needed another complete performance and that they had decided to field the same playing XI.

As the match commenced, Pakistan's openers Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq were at the crease, guiding their team to a score of 6/0 after the first over. Pakistan needed to win this match to remain in contention in the tournament.
