IND Vs ENG, 3rd ODI: Jos Buttler Wins The Coin Toss And Decides To Bat First
Feb 12, 2025 at 03:36 pm
India won the first two ODI's and have already won the series. It will be a big Test for Rohit Sharma's side, who will be batting first for the first time in the series
India and England will be facing off in the third ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday. India has already won the series by winning the first two ODIs.
England captain Jos Buttler won the coin toss and decided to bowl first. He said that the team wanted to experience bowling first before the ICC Champions Trophy. England has made one change to their Playing XI, with Tom Banton coming in for Jamie Overton.
Here's What The Captains Said During The Toss
Jos Buttler (England Captain):
"We are gonna bowl first today. A little bit of dew might come out later but we have batted first in the first 2 games and obviously we would like to experience bowling first before the Champions Trophy."
We have got some good positions and we need individuals and partnerships to go on and really make a match turning contribution. It has black soil. We played New Zealand in the World Cup here so we will see how it plays out today. One change today, Tom Banton comes in for Jamie Overton."
Rohit Sharma (India Captain):
"No, I wanted to bat first and put runs on the board because we have chased couple of times in this series so now we wanted to bat first. Yeah I enjoyed it. It was important for me and the team as well. To win it for my team was more important but also happy with my knock. It was needed."
"Yeah absolutely. A lot of these guys have a goal for themselves in their fielding. They work really hard and we also have a lot of youngsters in our side. So the two games in this series were a perfect example to be honest. We want to continue to get batter as a fielding team."
"(On the Debutants) Yeah superb. That is what we expect from the new comers. They understand what is required from them in the team. They have got a lot of potential in them."
"We have made a few changes. Jadeja and Shami have been rested. Varun unfortunately didn't pull up well. He has got a calf issue. Kuldeep, Washi and Arshdeep are back in the side."
