Hollywood and Gaming Giants Unite for AAA Web3 Games Publishing Venture in the United Arab Emirates

In a groundbreaking move that signals the growing convergence of traditional entertainment and Web3 technology, a consortium of renowned Hollywood and gaming industry leaders has established Galactic Entertainment Publishing, a AAA Web3 games publisher based in the United Arab Emirates.

The launch of Galactic Entertainment marks the first phase of operations for its parent company, Galactic Group. The firm's flagship project, PlanetQuest, has been in active development since 2022, generating significant user anticipation.

"PlanetQuest passport holders account for over 300,000 connected wallets, with over 200,000 holding one or more PlanetQuest NFTs," said Loren Roosendaal, CEO of Galactic Entertainment and founder of PlanetQuest. "This impressive user base signals a strong appetite for our game, even before its official launch."

The PlanetQuest team boasts a stellar track record, comprised of former executives from Disney, Warner Bros., Activision-Blizzard, and Epic. Their collective contributions span a wide range of blockbuster franchises, including films such as "The Batman," "Avengers," and "Blade Runner," as well as AAA games like "Fortnite," "Call of Duty," and "Star Wars: Jedi Survivor."

Jon McCoy, Galactic Entertainment's chief creative officer and a veteran of Hollywood blockbusters, expressed the unique nature of his work with Galactic Group:

"Creating a sci-fi universe with fans in a way that has never been attempted before has been an exceptional experience. While no first-time endeavor is flawlessly executed, the opportunity to engage and collaborate with fans from the outset sets this project apart from any of my previous work in Hollywood."

PlanetQuest, the company's debut title, is described as a "Star Wars-like" universe where players can own and trade in-game assets. From starships to entire planets, these digital assets can be utilized within the game or traded with other players for the native currency.

Galactic Entertainment has ambitious plans for PlanetQuest, including the launch of tie-in media such as novels, comic books, and an additional game to be announced later, as reported by VentureBeat.

The establishment of Galactic Entertainment Publishing marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the gaming industry, demonstrating the increasing integration of Web3 technology and traditional entertainment. As the company continues to develop PlanetQuest and explore new possibilities, the gaming landscape is poised for further innovation and engagement.
