Hawk Tuah girl Haliey Welch responds after investors filed a class action lawsuit against the $Hawk crypto project that was allegedly rug-pulled.
Dec 21, 2024 at 12:01 am
Haliey Welch revealed the launch of the $Hawk meme coin project in early December, with some fans immediately investing in the project.
TikTok star Haliey Welch has finally addressed the class-action lawsuit filed against cryptocurrency project $Hawk, which she promoted.
The project was launched in early December, and some of Welch’s fans quickly invested in the venture. However, the token’s value soon began to drop, and investors took to social media to claim that they had been the victims of a “rug pull.” This term refers to a scenario in which the owners of a project mass-sell their share of the tokens to generate a profit, leading to a sharp decline in the overall value.
On December 19, a group of investors filed a class-action lawsuit against Overhere Ltd, the company behind the $Hawk project, and Alex Larson Schultz, one of the individuals who promoted the token. Welch, who is also known as Hawk Tuah girl, has now broken her silence on the matter.

In a statement posted on Twitter/X, Welch stated that she is taking the situation “extremely seriously” and wishes to resolve the issues surrounding her project's launch.
“I take this situation extremely seriously and want to address my fans, the investors who have been affected, and the broader community. I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and resolve this matter,” she said.

She also included a link for affected investors to contact one of the law firms involved in the lawsuit against the project.
This marks the first time Welch has posted on social media since December 4, the day the hawk crypto project officially launched.
A spokesperson for Welch previously stated that she was not the creator of the project and that, aside from an initial sponsorship fee, there was no guarantee she would make any further money from the venture. They also claimed that she had “no control” over what happened with the project and that the individuals behind it had sought to capitalize on her viral success.
