Haliey Welch of course went viral for the ‘hawk tuah’ and ‘spit on that thang’ video - which really propelled her to unexpected fame.

'Hawk Tuah girl' Haliey Welch breaks silence on crypto controversy, with guests revealing what went wrong

Haliey Welch, who became famous for her "hawk tuah" video, has addressed her involvement in a crypto controversy for the first time.

Welch's guests on her podcast, Talk Tuah, revealed some of the biggest mistakes she made with her crypto coin.

One guest stated the fact the pre-sale wasn't made public was a "problem", while another claimed it was "public setup wrong."

"People that are really into crypto and do it every day, you can see this is wrong," the guest added.

The overriding feeling was that more "transparency" should have been shown with Welch's venture into crypto.

Welch has not been named as a defendant on subsequent lawsuits on the crypto, but she has received a lot of criticism online following the scandal and subsequently went off the social media radar.

One person claimed they had lost their life savings after purchasing $35,000 worth of coin, which was only valued at $2,000 just ten minutes later.

Elsewhere in the podcast, Welch explained how the idea had been brought to her as a "long-term coin" that would "change the way everybody thinks about crypto."

She said: "And I feel really bad for all the people that got affected by it. And it just didn't go the way I planned.”

She also revealed what her boyfriend made of all the drama as he also put his own cash into the crypto.

"Pookie lost money too," she admitted.

"He said, 'How you going to take my money'? He still gives me s*** all the time, he says, 'I wish I had my $300 back.'"
