Off the Grid Early Access Released, Prominent Streamers Promote Game's Launch
Oct 11, 2024 at 01:30 am
The highly anticipated blockchain-integrated game “Off the Grid” has been released in early access, allowing players to explore its unique battle royale experience.
The long-awaited blockchain-integrated game "Off the Grid" has finally arrived in early access, inviting players to delve into its unique battle royale experience. Developed by Gunzilla Games, the game is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via the Epic Games Store.
What sets "Off the Grid" apart from other battle royale games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and PUBG is its focus on allowing players to customize and interchange robotic limbs during the game to gain enhanced attributes and tactical advantages. The online survival game is set in a reality show where players must eliminate each other in large-scale team battles.
One of the key highlights of the "Off the Grid" model is its integration with blockchain technology. Players can mint rare weapons and items as NFTs, increasing the value of in-game assets. These NFTs can then be traded and sold, creating an in-game economy that utilizes the GUN token, which will eventually be listed on the Avalanche mainnet.
While this is not the final version of the game, players can get a glimpse of what to expect in the complete product. Currently, the game features a city map and a 60-player mode called "Extraction Royale." In this mode, three teams of three players engage in a strategic and action-packed battle to the last squad standing. This beta version of the game allows players to experience the game's mechanics and try out its blockchain features.
Top Streamers Help Promote Game's Launch
However, despite being available on consoles, the crypto integration is not yet enabled in the game. Players can earn GUN tokens by completing missions within the game, but it's not possible to purchase GUN tokens for the game yet. The token has not yet launched on Avalanche's mainnet, though it was used in earlier playtests. Gunzilla Games has yet to announce when full blockchain integration on consoles will be available.
Off the Grid has generated a lot of buzz, with several top streamers joining the game for its early access launch, including Tyler "Ninja" Blevins, Seth "Scump" Abner, and Tim "TimTheTatman" Betar. Ninja's custom character skin in the game adds another layer of excitement. These streamers showcased the game to millions of viewers on Twitch, building up anticipation for the game's full release.
Excited to have my own skin in #OffTheGrid, the new Extraction Royale from @NeillBlomkamp @GunzillaGames. Going live with Early Access at 1 CT.

Gunzilla Games promises that "Off the Grid" will offer players 60 hours of gameplay with a strong narrative focus, merging the battle royale genre with cinematic storytelling. This narrative element aims to differentiate the game from other similar titles in the market and enhance player engagement.
In addition to the game's trailer, the company has also released the official soundtrack for "Off The Grid." The developer has also managed to secure $30 million to aid in the game's development and future endeavors. Other investors that participated in the funding round include CoinFund, Avalanche's Blizzard Fund, Republic Capital, and Morningstar Ventures, which will also be used to expand the Avalanche-based GUNZ platform.
