Gemini, a major crypto exchange, has appointed Dan Chen as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Chen previously held key roles at Affirm, MetLife Investments, and Morgan Stanley, focusing on capital markets and banking partnerships.
Gemini, a major cryptocurrency exchange, has appointed Dan Chen as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the company announced on X.
Chen, who previously held key roles at Affirm, MetLife Investments, and Morgan Stanley, will be spearheading Gemini’s financial strategy as it enters the next phase of growth.
Before joining Gemini, Chen served as Vice President at Affirm, where he focused on capital markets, financial strategy, and managing the company’s investment portfolio. He also held positions at MetLife Investments, where he led investment planning and operations for private equity funds, and at Morgan Stanley, where he contributed to banking partnerships and new product development in capital markets.
Chen’s experience in capital markets and financial management aligns with Gemini’s ongoing growth plans. The exchange has been expanding its operations and navigating regulatory requirements in the US.
“I’m looking forward to helping Gemini scale by driving financial strategy as the company enters its next phase of growth. Let’s build!” Chen remarked in his post on X.
His comments highlight the exchange’s financial developments as it considers its next steps.
Gemini’s IPO plans follow recent legal resolutions. In February, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) closed its investigation into Gemini, and in January, the company settled a dispute with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
These legal updates have removed major regulatory barriers, paving the way for a potential IPO. The company has also stepped up its engagement with policymakers, which could influence its future in the US market.
Gemini co-founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss have been meeting with political figures and discussing cryptocurrency regulations. They attended the first-ever Crypto Summit at the White House, where industry leaders and government officials gathered to discuss digital asset policies.
Their participation in these discussions could impact Gemini’s regulatory standing as it moves toward a public offering. With Dan Chen now overseeing financial strategy, Gemini continues to focus on capital markets and regulatory compliance as it prepares for potential market expansion in the coming year.
