U.S. spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) experienced a setback on Tuesday, with a net outflow of $242.53 million, following a sharp drop in bitcoin’s value. This marked a reversal from the previous day, which saw a net inflow of $100.88 million.
Data from sosovalue.xyz indicates that the 12 spot bitcoin ETFs hit a roadblock, with seven funds recording net outflows. Fidelity’s FBTC ETF led the outflows, shedding $144.67 million, followed by ARK Invest’s ARKB ETF, which saw a net outflow of $84.35 million.
Among the seven funds that experienced outflows, Blackrock’s IBIT ETF stood out by recording a net gain of $40.84 million. The remaining six funds didn’t see much action, ending the day with neither gains nor losses.
Overall, the 12 U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs had hit a combined net inflow of $18.62 billion by Wednesday morning, according to sosovalue.xyz. Together, the funds now hold a total of $57.36 billion in bitcoin reserves, which represents 4.77% of bitcoin’s market capitalization.
In the realm of ether ETFs, the nine funds experienced a net outflow of $48.52 million on Tuesday, as seven of the funds recorded net redemptions. Grayscale’s ETHE ETF led the losses, shedding $26.64 million, followed by Fidelity’s FETH ETF, which lost $24.97 million.
Rounding out the day, Bitwise’s ETHW ETF experienced a net outflow of $895,650. However, not all funds were in the red — Vaneck’s ETHV ETF pulled in a net gain of $2.74 million, while 21shares’ CETH ETF gained $1.25 million.
The rest of the ether funds saw a quiet day with no notable gains or losses. Tuesday’s losses brought the nine ethereum ETFs to a cumulative net outflow of $572.31 million since July 23.
Together, the funds now hold $6.81 billion in ether reserves, which accounts for 2.31% of ethereum’s total market value. The day saw $2.53 billion in trade volume for bitcoin ETFs and $290.81 million for ethereum ETFs.
At 8 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, bitcoin was trading at $60,948, and ethereum was priced at $2,450.
